¿Halloween?

Tomorrow will be Halloween. Unfortunately I have class until late, so I don't think I will be able to go to the big and famous Parade.
Last year I was lucky and I could enjoy in
West Hollywood .
Last Saturday night Karine came to say hi... I have been feeling the Halloween night for the past days, that's because I am living in the Mission, the best neighborhood to celebrate the Day of the Death... and this morning, I woke up with this weird Liberty statue in front of my apartment.
Oh yeah, Halloween is in everywhere... except in my home. Nobody here likes this kind of celebration (except me).

That's it.

Name: Karan
Age: 28
Occupation: Personal trainer
Hometown: India
Here for: Helping me how to understand some aspects from the Indian culture... and others.

Ciutadans... a votar!

Hoy me he sentido plena: he ido a votar.
Olé, olé! y si no, clicad aquí.

Today I went to vote for my State elections. Because I am the one who thinks that before critizise you have to get involved first.
And this year we have a new party that I strongly support: Ciutadans. Partit de la ciutadania. Because of their progressist ideas and because of their wonderful publicity: check it out.
And that add in the bus stop, in the Mission at 16th called my attention and I had to get the iniciative.
I voted!

Realism with Bert & Isabela

In the last days I've been experiencing a very surrealist situations. Today, for example, I had a very unique situation, but first of all, I need to bring you in a context:
5 month ago I wrote a post that you can read here about Bert Monroy, a person who showed up in my life as my Realism with Photoshop teacher and provoked me a big admiration to have had the chance to meet him and discover a GENIUS. I am talking about one of the persons who created the famous Graphic Design program. They were just 3 classes, 7 hours each one, but very intensive. My best class ever.
In the other hand, it's Isabela, the Teacher Assistant of my Photoshop II and III class, she's from Brazil and also attended that class with Bert. She's the kind of person that's seems impossible to miss because of his generous and happy soul and she's a Spain lover, so when I told her I was from Barcelona, she almost adopted me.
The surrealist thing of today has been that finally I went to her house, a typicall American beautiful house in the other side of the bay, where she, her husband and her son live together. So, when she arrived to the train station to pick me up, there was Bert Monroy, the great Bert Monroy... next to her, in the same car.
The most amazing thing has been to share all the morning with him and to see how he cooked for us. Him, one of my idols...! and may be the next meeting will be in his home. That would be a dream!
I wonder if this kind of things would happend to me if I were in Spain.

More to love

¡Yo no peso 145 libras!
¿No quería vida social? Pues toma vida social.

Yesterday I got a gift, a dark chocolate bombons from See's, mmmm... I love them.
And today, by some chance, I found a balance in the street. It's unbelieble the things one can find in the streets of this city, especially in my neighborhood, until you come and experience it. By the way, I think it was broken and that was the reason I found it on the street. I am not in 145 pounds! And if it's my real weigh, more to love!... Even though I don't think I need that right now.
I know my blog is getting lazy, but I promise I'll fix it.

This second season has not been so creative than the last one even I am having kind of things that doesn't let me think about others.
That's a pitty I can't explain it through my blog...
Didn't I want social life? Here it is...

Teatro underground

When Greg told me that we were going to that play in Berkeley, I get excited!, mostly for two reasons:
1. Because I love plays, of course
2. Because since Greg started the new job, he doesn't dedicate me even a half an hour per day
He has been trying so hard to make a reservation but it wasn't until yesterday that we were able to go.
He told me the play was showed in a pizza place and I have to say that even it looks an original thing, it scared me, I thought it would be those kind of boring plays that everybody sleeps with.
But if the pizza place thing was weird, you can't even thing what I thought when I saw that the scenario was underground.
Now I understand why "underground" art exists.
By the way, the play was great. It's been a long time I haven't spent such a nice night in a "theater" (or kinda) and also the pizza that we ate while we watch it.

The science of sleep

Halloween is close, and also the Day of the Dead.
And today, I woke up with one of those bad news: Yasmine's grandma, the one who raised her, died. She's very affected so she's decided to go to Belgium and meet her family. It's sad that these things happen, but even worst when you are so far... Plus, when you live with someone, they become like part of your family, specially her, who is in a very similar situation than mine.

We send her all our support in these bad moments.

Last Sunday I watched this movie "
The science of sleep", which I strongly recommend to those who have a very creative and romantic souls, like mine.
A graphic designer with a wonderful mind is not able to control his dreams and difference from reality. His imagination give him a hard time but he finally find another person able to share this madness together.
How many times the dreams become something so real that we can't control until we wake up...
Gael García Bernal play such a good interpretation, as usually. I just love him.

This is an original, absurd and funny movie and at the same time shows a beautiful love story between two people very different from the rest of the world.
Because of sleeping and dreaming will be a science to discover, we need to keep dreaming and creating new realities.

It's funny to realize how easily people like throwing things that aparently they don´t need it anymore.
And even funnier it's realize the fact that they do something similar with people around.
Sometimes I feel like that Panda Bear who someone else throwed him away and, spite of calling the attention, doesn´t receive any reaction of those who are in front of him. Some people may be think how happy could be if they could take the Panda Bear at home, but still, they don´t dare to do it because the are waiting for the right moment to do it.

And the worst... it's like I am also becoming like them....
I wish we could be able to do all that things that we wish to do in the moment that we wish to do it and pick up every single Panda Bear that we use to find in our ways.

One week past and I haven´t updated my blog. That's a record...
I haven't been able to do it, not because a few activity but because a few motivation.
My parents sucked my time and gave me such overdosis of attention that I couldn't keep the rythm.
I can't explain everything and I don't want to reapeat myself saying how lucky, happy and proud I feel to have this family, opinion extended by the rest of the people who had the chance to meet them.
Attached you guys will find pictures of one of some wonderful moments we all spent together:

- The meals: being with my parents it means to gain weight. Good food and good wine is necessary and San Francisco offers tons of wonderful places for that.
The best: walking off the food in Bernal Heights in a beatiful day.

- A day in Monterey. It was the second time for my mother and me in this tiny little town where the sea lions and the artichokes are probably the most common things.
The best: driving through the Highway 1 across the Pacific Coast.

- The full Moon in Point Bonita: celebrating my birthday in good company and with good Spanish products. A magicall place where you can see the sunset while the Moon rises in the other side.
The best: hanging out all together under the Moonlight and see how my parents are able to adapt of each situation.

- In Napa Valley again. I couldn't miss the chance to bring my father to the Wine Country. Greg was our guide and we visited the Sterling winery and tasted some good wines there.
The best: the view from the telepheric of such dreamy location.

And now... alone again, but very happy.
What a nice feeling being loved...

Gracias!

Esperaba flores... y no he tenido ninguna.
Sin embargo he tenido algo mejor.

I want to thank everybody for make my birthday such a special day. Without any doubt, this year is going to be one of the most importants birthdays in my life. I felt loved and fully and I think that was the best present I could ever had.
I expected flowers... and I haven't got anyone.
Nevertheless I had something better, the best surprise that I could have: my parents. They just showed up without tell anyone...
I still can't believe that they are here.
I love surprises...
I think I can't be happier.
I want to give a special thank you to Farah (because she came from LA just to be with me in this day), to Greg (because he's in the right moments and have dressed up for such ocasion), to Kelly (because she's so sweetie), to Yasmine (because she made a big effort to share with me this day, even though I know how busy she is and because she spoke french with my father), to Darío (because he left birthday messages everywhere), to Damien (because he tried to come even something was wrong), and everyone of those who called me from Spain: Diana, Ana, Raquel, my uncle Martín and my aunt Trini and Jordi. And for all those e-mails I got from everywhere...
Thank you all to make my 25 unforgetable.

Caliente, caliente...

People say it's bad luck anticipating facts, I hope it's not true.
In the last days I've had a lot of anticipations, specially of those from Spain. My parents sent me a package and the aduanes took away more than 2 pounds of pork products.
No, it's not my birthday yet, but it's close...
Last Saturday a whole restaurant sang the Happy Birthday to me.
I was embarassed, but it was cute...
Farah is coming and I've prepared a trip for Saturday, and if it doesn't rain, we'll go to see the sunset and the full moon together in a lighthouse next to the Pacific with some Rioja wine I'll find somewhere.
I shouldn't be so happy, because I am sad if I can reach what I expected. But I can't avoid it.
I can't concentrate myself either... there are also other reasons: some good, some not.
