I’m back again.
After a week of internet rest, I’ve decided to come back and feed this creature, my blog, that gives me a big satisfaction in a lot of moments.
This is the third time I come to Spain “visiting” and not for “staying” but this is the first time I’ve felt more unattached and honestly, I don’t like that.
And with this unattachment I mean the fact to feel myself more "omited" than I’ve felt in SF for a long time.

I guess it’s kind of difficult to arrange everybody’s life, especially for Christmas time and that’s the reason why I wanted to express my indignity against this part of social life that I’ve been always presuming in SF and once I’m here I feel like not the same one I let before I moved.
I’ve been talking so many times about the American’s superficiality and I just realized that a lot of Spanish people, especially catalans, are more like that than what I thought.
Apparently, some people don’t have time for others. And I’d wish if anytime happens me something like that, someone could warned me with enough time to rectify.

I’m glad to know that at least I can use my cell phone for something else than receiving calls from busy people…

When I just got home, my father offered me to go to his village, in the country side. A place where I can never deny to go.
It's good for me to disconnect from everything that involves me and realize that the only thing that worries me it's to think about what will be doing the rest of the day before going to bed.
I've been with my sheeps, I've spent some time with them, look at them for hours and tried to understand them a little bit more. Sometimes it's hard to understand how animals can be such stupid and intelligent at the same time. Animal instinct or logic, there is a whole world to discover.
In the picture, the baby sheep can't have milk from his mother sheep (for natural reasons) but none of the other mother sheep can't help him because they don't recognise him like their baby. So the solution it's putting the real skin of a dead baby sheep and try to confuse the mother of the dead baby sheep with him.
I think that was a great story.

Finalmente he subido al avión. Odio volar.
Me he tragado 3 películas de auténtico pastel: Broke Up, The devil wears Prada y My super ex girlfriend.

I admit it, it was hard to leave the city, especially today that was such a nice day.
I know I shouldn't say this, but for my very first time since I´ve been travelling to the US, I felt lazy...!
When I first arrive to the airport, I waited in the wrong line.

Afterwards, when I got to the desk they told me I couldn´t bring the 70 pounds that my reservation said, they just change the laws and I just was able to carry 50. And here I am... trying to take things out of my luggage and save some money.
I boarded into the plane. I hate flying.
I had time to watch 3 movies: Broke Up, The devil wears Prada and My super ex girlfriend. But when I was planning to watch the fourth one Superman, my sleeping pills started to have some effect on me.
But finally I'm home.
And I need to sleep.

Mmmmmmm.....

While some of you read this post, I'll be travelling home.
It's 4 in the morning, I am watching "Home alone" in the TV, like every single Christmas everywhere and my room is a big mess. But I had to write my last post before leaving because I don't know when I'll be able to write again in the next weeks.
Yes, tonight is my last night in the city before having a , deserved it or not, 6 weeks at home.
The fact of have been dinning with Greg and have been spending the last minutes of the night with him has had so much significance for me.
Greg, no doubt, have been a very important part in my second season here. From the first moment I met him, I knew I would be more than a roommate and friend. He has had to handle me in a lot of moments that I needed attention (and that means very often), patience and a daily smile, which is much more than one can receive in a whole life.
Lately, work have kept him more distant and unmotivated than what I would have wished. That's why when he asked me today what we were planning to do in the evening, I stoped evertything what I was doing to take profit of the moment.

Finally we went to that latin restaurant in Guerrero at 18th called Plátanos. Mmmmmmm.....

Kleome Launch

Karine invited me to assist to her new line hangbag's collection in a launch party. I talked about Karine before because other than friend, she's a very talented artist whose work I highly admire and support.
You can see some of her work in her website: Kleome.
The location took place in the Minna Gallery, where I had been before, with 80's music directed by her husband DJ Satva.

A few days ago I discovered that San Francisco's metro is the only in the world where people wait in line before enter in the train... In where other place people do that?
In the pictures you can see the moment that the metro arrives, and how people is getting ready in the wide and long of the platform.
And other thing I can't understand very well is the fact that people inside the vagon they don´t prepare for leaving when the train is aproaching. They just wait until the doors are open so they stand up from their chairs and leave, bothering all the people they are waiting outside.
Next time I may talk about why people enter in mass through the back door in the bus, instead of doing it like the rest of the world, through the main one....
If there is something that American people love is the sense of order. Don't ask them to park the car in a tiny place or driving in a rainy day... but seek a problem and they will find the solution without need any adaptation period.

Trabajo legal

After a year and a half living in the States, finally I'm gonna be able to work off campus in a legal way. Although the initial permit is just valid for three month of part time work, afterwards I will be able to apply for another full time work permit for antoher 10,5 month more. This permit is called OPT (Optional Practical Training) and it's designed for international students that have been studying for a full academic year in an American institution. The idea is that those students can put in practice their knowledge and they can integrate it to the professional world even though doesn't restrict the type of job that one can have.
My parents are kinda scared because they think I'm planning to stay forever. The fact is that I came here to be 5 month before extending to 9 and now has been already 20 since I arrived! But no way! I have no intentions of being here longer that my OPT can allow me.
Don't panic!

Although in my personal life I've chosen to live alone instead of bad company, in my every day life, I prefer living with bad company than alone. And in spite of living with a very 3 nice roommates, this morning I've been needed because of that tomato sauce.
Today I woke up thinking that I would have a productive day... I went shopping some groceries and had decided cook some of my invents... I spent about 45 minutes trying to cut all the ingredients and prepare all the food ready before the last step. It relax me so much being in the kitchen and playing with food...
So when I was ready to add the tomato sauce, I realized that I was UNABLE to open the bottle. I tried different times, with different positions until my hands started to be painful, I tried putting it over the fire and warm it (like my mother used to do), tried also with clothes (to not slipper because of the sweat)... so I decided to go to my only neighbor's and of course, he wasn't there.
I also called Greg to check if he was on his way, but the phone didn't give any signal.
I thought about running to the street and ask to the first person I met some help, but I guess I'm too shy for that and finally I've desisted and against my desires, I've eaten that thing without the tomate sauce.

Next has been when I've tried to change the bulb in the ceiling with my 5´4 size, up in a chair, and even couldn't be able to arrive to the middle way...
Have I or haven't I reasons to be terribly dependent?

¡me da qué pensar!
¿Algún interesado?

My friend from Spain called me to ask me if I could get the PlayStation 3 for his son's Christmas present. So I called to the store and when someone answered me saying "Good evening, the PS3 is sold out, this is Kevin, how can I help you?" was the moment that I realized how hard it would be to get one. The next day I decided to go to the store and ask them personally but when I got there I found a big lane of people waiting to buy it because they have just arrived it. Thinking it would be fast, I joined them and I got an exclusive sticker that guaranteed me to have the machine...
After 2 hours waiting! and spending $650 for it, I realized that my friend's son wouldn't be able to enjoy the PS3 because the video system is different, the plugs are different and the most important, I had no idea how to keep with me a 15 pounds box travelling in a plane.
Finally my friend told me to return it back... but after checking how people is selling it in E-Bay for $2,000... it makes me think about it! Is there anyone interested?

I was like a child with a new toy when I got tickets to go to the Opera. Influenced by one of the most romantic movies ever, I felt like Julia Roberts playing Vivian Ward with that long red dress and white gloves, taking a private jet with one of the most atractive man in Earth to go to see The Traviata in the same place I was. Although instead of Richard Gere, my companion were Isabela and her husband Marcelo, instead of a private jet, was a vagon car and instead box seats, we were at the very end balcony side where I almost couldn't read the subtitles sitted in a place where I couldn't move my legs... but who cares? I was in the Opera for just $25!!
Thay play was The barber of Seville of Rossini (in the link you can watch a piece and have an idea) and the ambience: a total experience for living.
It was funny how people ran through the corridors trying to find their seats... I had no idea that they closed the doors once the play starts. Marcelo went to park the car and got out for the whole first act (1 hour and 35 minutes!).
The decoration was spectacular... I think I'll repeat the experience.
