Un tranvía en Market st.

El otro día cogí uno de los tranvías de Market st, la calle principal de San Francisco, que me llevó hasta la escuela. El viaje es lento, mucho más lento que si uno coge el metro, o incluso el autobús, pero a mí me mereció la pena.
Saber que mi estancia aquí no se va a prolongar demasiado, que estoy aquí sólo de paso y que en unos meses volveré a mi país, me hace ver las cosas de diferente manera. Me hace vivir las cosas mucho más intensamente y ver lo que otros muchos no saben apreciar día a día.
Una de esas cosas fue el trayecto en ese tranvía de madera viejo, que todavía conserva sus carteles publicitarios en italiano, recordando que un día, ese mismo tranvía recorría las calles de Milán.
En plena tarde de un día entre semana, me encontré sentada en ese tranvía apenas vacío, disfrutando de un momento mágico que ninguno de los asistentes parecía compartir conmigo.
Hay tantas cosas que echaré de menos cuando vuelve al viejo continente... y éste momento será una de ellas.

A few days ago, I took one of the cable cars you find in Market st, the main avenue in San Francisco, to go to my school. The trip is extremely slow, much more than BART (metro) or even MUNI (bus) but it was worth it.
Knowing that my staying here is not going to be that longer, that I am living here just for a certain period of time, just a few more month maybe and after that I'll come back to my country, makes me experience things in a different way. It makes me live things in a more intensive way and see things that other people can't appreciate in the everyday life.
One of those things was the trip in that old cable car, that still kept his italian advertisements, reminding that one day, that cable car was probably running the streets of Milano.
So, in the middle of a weekday's evening I found myself enjoying that magicall moment that nobody else seemed to share with me.
There are so many things that I am going to miss when I come back to the Old Continent... and this one will be one of them.
